Going to camp!

Thinking back to when I was in grade school my summers were filled with time at the pool, playing in the yard, riding bikes, sleepovers, time at Grandma and Grandpa's house, vacation (usually out to Kansas City), camping/hiking, eating ice cream, and Girl Scout camp. My weeks at camp were filled with various adventures including hiking, crafts, archery, learning about plants and animals, and simply just enjoying the sun and time with new and old friends alike. And today, although having not been a Girl Scout for about 10 years I am experiencing the joy of going back to camp!

It all started a week ago when my aunt mentioned her friend who runs a camp in southern Washington state. I researched the camp and applied online on Sunday, had an interview over the phone on Tuesday and was offered a job as a counselor, booked my flight on Wednesday, packed on Thursday and Friday, and flew out of town this morning. It has been a busy couple of days but I am excited to be making this cross country trip for what I am sure will be an exhilarating and exhausting summer! Who doesn't want to relive some of the best summer weeks of childhood?! Here I come Camp Arrowhead!
